Great Old Broads for Wilderness

Grant for $1,250 in 2013 entitled “Elders and Youth: Partners in Restoration, Restitution, and Native Plant Revegetation.”

The goal of the project is to restore native vegetation to three sections of trail or old roadways that have been previously closed by BLM staff in the Grand Junction field area.. One trail identified as needing restoration work was a closed road ¼ to ½ mile long in the Little Park Trailhead area.  Seed collection will be done by members of the Grand Junction Area chapter of Great Old Broads for Wilderness (Broads), and planting will be done by Broads members in cooperation with Mesa County Partners (Partners) Restitution Crew and Hilltop Trail Crew.
